Aesthetics of a digital mayhem meet humanity's closest connection to its pre-digital roots; farmed animals. The nostalgic sight of farmers' chickens is distorted under an artificially bright veneer, mimicking the techno-coloured lens through which we see our digital devices, and increasingly, our natural resources. As completely and undeniably under our ownership. As tools for us to manipulate at will. Designed to be played in an endless (almost uncomfortably so) loop, this piece plays with a digital-aged perception of time being non-linear as a result of on-demand culture. The flashing text and moving cursor create a passive interactivity - the viewer is given visual cues of a videogame-like control, but an independently moving cursor leaves this control just out of reach. Inspired by Jonathon Foer's novel Eating Animals, this piece is intended to leave viewers with a final question; do we deserve our self-given power over livestock? Or has the factory farming industry become a sick game?
